Team Automotive Art Crush The Competition

August 28, 2009

It was an explosive double header event this past Sunday for Team Automotive Art. All three drivers from our team who entered drove like champions and each man won his group.

Even more so Ian Warren in his Automotive Art/Simpson Motors Suzuki Swift stood at the top as the fast two wheel drive vehicle of the day. He held that position from the very first practice run until the last run of the day, an amazing 8 straight runs as the fastest man on two wheel power.

Josh Read in his heated battle for group honours drove his Automotive Art Toyota Starlet to the brink and never flinched amidst strong competition from James Betts and Neil Corbin. Josh himself took it one step further as he went out to battle for fastest two wheel drive car. He started chopping down the faster times set by Cliff Roett and Jonathan Still. In the first runs of the day (the Down Hill) Josh was able to put himself third fasted two wheel drive and first in his group. However in the uphill Josh was between only by his teammate Ian Warren for fastest two wheel drive.

It was an amazing sight to see the results in the afternoon read a 1-2 finish for Automotive Art in the two wheel drive class.

Always reliable Edward Corbin completely destroyed the competition in his modified 6 group. He too was driving like a man possessed and had his Automotive Art Daihatsu Charmant on the limiter the entire day. In the down hill runs he managed to dominate his group by clocking the fastest time with his closest rival 2 full seconds off the pace. In the up hill runs he put nearly 6 full seconds on the closest competitor in his group.

See below the full results of the day.

Hats off to all the competitors for putting on an incredible display of all out driving and congrats to Josh, Ian and Edward.
